This is for a senior boy 18 years old. He and his friends are pretty big boys, football players. We were thinking wings and meatballs for the meat because these are easy to prepare and keep warm, and I know the kids will like this. If I go with this how many should I prepare? What should I make with it. I don't want to be stuck behind a grill all day making burgers or hot dogs. Also how much cake is needed for this size of party.

  1. buffet style - a big salad, ziti, italian bread and butter and garlic,  have a dessert table  and before the big dinner appetizers, fruit and cheese have fun.

    and good luck!

  2. Hit the Deli in a grocery store, & get trays of finger foods, served with some fantastic good Punch.  You could add chips & dip; check with them for suggestions.

  3. They have great boneless wings, you can broil them for a few min and then put them in crock pots with Sweet Baby Rays bbq sauce.  I would fix a big pan of corn bread with them, fold in cheddar cheese and drained hot peppers before you bake.  Some raw veggies or a big layered salad could finish it off.  As far as the cake goes, you are going to need 2 full sheets, you could also make gourmet brownies at home.  Just use mixes and top with crushed oreos or snickers bars or andes mints or whatever your son loves.

  4. A bakery sheet cake generally serves 60 people. If you have cookies, brownies, you could figure less cake, maybe two or three. The KFC catering calculator figures 800 wings if that's all the meat you're offering. Figure 400 wings and 400 to 500 meatballs if you're having both. The more meat type dishes you have, the less of each thing you need. If you threw in a couple of 6 foot subs from Subway, or a couple of sheet pizzas, then you would need even less wings and meatballs. The more stuff you order ahead and pick up the day of the party, the less stress you'll have. For a party that size, you might want to consider a catering package from a Super K-Mart or WalMart or large grocery store deli-they will have the food ready on your party day-you pick it up and take.

  5. I would go for a Tea party, with small sandwiches and fairy cakes.Very easy to pre make and present well.

  6. QUANTITIES TO SERVE 100 PEOPLE

    Wieners - 25 lbs.

    Coffee - 3 lbs.

    Hamburger - 30-36 lbs.

    Potatoes - 35 lbs.

    Bread - 10 loaves

    Rolls - 200

    Butter - 3 lbs.

    Ham - 40 lbs.

    Milk - 6 gallons

    Cream - 3 qts.

    Roast - 40 lbs.

    Baked beans - 5 gallons

    Vegetables - 26 lbs.

    Fruit salad - 20 qts.

To serve 50 people, divide by 2.

  7. You can't go wrong with appetizers. With the numbers you're expectings, you may need to buy at least ten different types, but it shouldn't be too hard to go to your local grocery store and pick out a few tasty treats. Be sure to mix appetizers and desserts, I always hate it when I go to a party where there's no sweets I can nibble on.

  8. Have you considered getting about 4-5 6-foot submarine sandwiches?  Potato salad, bean salad, and fruit salad... and baskets of chips.....  If you buy everything, you won't be busy cooking all day.  Teenage boys are usually more concerned with quantity, not quality:) ......ask the bakery (grocery bakery will be best) how many people a sheet cake would serve.  You might need 2 of them.  Or just get one, and a bunch of chocolate chip cookies and brownies....   Put out some big plastic tubs of Twizzlers or Red Vines red licorice too......

  9. hot dogs and hamburgers with chips.

  10. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.Get the little cocktail weenies and wrap them in bacon. Use a tooth pick to hold the bacon on the weenie and then pack them tight together on a pan for baking. Sprinkle brown sugar on top of them before you stick them into the oven. Usually it takes about 15 minuets but keep a close eye on the because every oven is different. My group used the recipe when we hosted a dance for 300 people. They are the ugliest little things but they are sooooo good and all your guest will be talking about them.

  11. w***e's Douvers.

  12. dinner or midday? and what age group?
