My P.E. teacher told me that I was one of the top 5 runners in my class and that I was chosen to represent my class in the 50 meter dash. What is the best way to run? How should my stance be? which foot do I place in fornt of me when getting ready to run? Any other unfo that would improve my performance when running would be appreciated

  1. When you start off running and you are using kind of like a stepping block then the leg opposite of the one you write with should go in front.

Keep your arms next to your hips just swing back and forth, but make sure you keep them very close to you.

When running it can also help to try and keep your chest puffed out to help from getting winded easily and give you a little greater speed.  Usually as you are coming to the finish line you can lean your heads forwards in a tight race to come ahead.

  2. Usually your lead foot goes in front. Try 'falling' forward, and see which foot you put in front to stop yourself. That's the one that you should start with. When it comes to legs, just do whatever's natural. With arms, you should have them at a 90 degree angle and pump them from 'hip pocket to eye socket'. That's where the real speed comes from, your arms. Here's a good site that analysis every part of your body with form: http://www.trifuel.com/triathlon/run/pro...
