  1. It all depends on how good you are and how good your opponent knows his style.  One of my favirote styles is one that not alot a people know about and that is capoeira?

  2. There is no best form of Martial arts, I should know, I'm currently studying 7 different styles myself. The best kind of martial art is the u make of it, whatever ur into, do it.

In case ur wondering about the stlyles I'm studying are Kung fu, Karate, Judo, Taekondo, Hopkido,Tai boxing, and kick boxing.

  3. Tae Kwon do is more for looks. Its all fancy kicking and stuff but 9 out of 10 times they will get hurt badly by a muay thai fighter. Lets put it like this, if a war broke out and everybody had to use hand to hand combat, you would want to know Muay Thai.

Muay Thai is the best because the thais are best at everything.

  4. Chinese  gung fu!

  5. Tae Kwon Do all the way. I've been in it for over a year and love it!

  6. tai bo...the spinning b**** slap is unstoppable!

  7. Mu Shu Gai Pan

  8. tae kwon do!

  9. No such thing!

At best, there are only best practitioners of a martial art.

    Ohhhh... what the heck...

I'll go with the Internal Martial Arts (as opposed to the External Martial Arts.)

  10. MMA or other combat sports (BJJ, judo, boxing, muay thai etc). Youtube is a great example of how a well-rounded MMA fighters and grapplers will beat a traditional martial artist (i.e. Kung Fu, Tae Kwon Do, Karate etc...). Another good reference are the early UFCs which had fighters from all disciplines (form sub wrestling to sumo) competing with minimal rules. The smallest fighter in UFC 1 won with BJJ, showing that a martial art with a full contact sporting aspect beat traditional martial arts.

The reason being that sport fighters and combat athletes regularly spar and train full contact and that prepares you for fighting. Further, by regularly sparring they know which techniques they can use/work under pressure or in a fight and those that don't. This is far cry from traditional martial artists who almost never spar, and if they do its point sparring or 2 step sparring etc against a non-resisting opponent. Training with a non-resisting opponent makes techniques appear to work, even though they won't against a resisting one.

So when you assess a martial arts academy or gym you should be looking for one that trains with aliveness and spars. A small list of martial arts that do this are:

    MMA

    Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

    Wrestling

    Boxing

    Judo

    Sambo

    Kyokushin Karate

    Muay Thai

    Daido Juku

Combat sports also generally much more physically rigorous and you'll get much fitter from them. Also, it is good to keep in mind that you should train in all ranges of combat (ground work, standing grappling/clinching, striking) and I feel that an MMA gym would be the best place to become well rounded.

  11. Argh. There is no best martial art. I can tell you that the martial arts I've taken art very effective, especially Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu.

  12. there is no correct answer for this, it all depends on what you are looking for, if it is sport and fitness then maybe tae kwon do, if you want ground fighting then maybe brazialian jujitsu.  Try out some different arts and see what you like, once you get in some time then you can cross train in other arts to give yourself more versatility.  There are countless arts out there each with there own advantages.  The question is what are you looking for in a martial art?

  13. in my opinion kung fu

but there is no best martial art.

  14. Kung Fu
