What is the best formation for a novice 6v6 (turf) soccer team?

We keep losing and I wanted to know what formation you thought was the best for a beginner's-to-novice team. Please only answers from experience - there is too much guessing and opining on Yahoo Answers.

Well when my friends and i have a legit game we cover each others weaknesses.

We play 2 strikers,1 mid,2defense,goalie.

The important thing is knowing your players strengths and weaknesses. Adapt to each others style.
