  1. use fire fox as it is the best most of the viruses are made for explorer but keep explorer and disable it and only use it when you need to update via Microsoft(set Fire Fox as the default browser)

I have my internet by BT but the browser is Fire Fox with the home page set as yahoo and BT only on bookmarks

  2. in my opinion

    firefox is the best browser

yahoo mail/gmail are free mail services

you can also get their toolbars

  3. Google Mail (aka gmail) is good for email - loads of free space for emails, and you can get to them via browser or using email software such as Outlook, Thunderbird, etc.

For a browser, you can dowload Internet Explorer from Microsoft (without all the BT toolbars and branding).  Otherwise Firefox or Opera is what most people will recommend.

  4. Browser - FireFox all the way

Email - I've always used Microsoft Live Mail (or hotmail) and never had any troubled with it, and now especially as Microsoft have released an Outlook connector so you can connect Outlook with Live Mail without paying the previous subscription charge - wooo!

  5. Try Firefox; I bet you'll like it. If you have a rather old PC, K-meleon tends to be a bit faster, so try that instead. It has the same underpinnings as FireFox, but is lighter. For E-mail, I suggest using a combination of Webmail and Thunderbird. Thunderbird will also work with Gmail.

Basically, you'll surf the Web through Firefox or K-meleon, and you'll acess your BT e-mail system through a desktop program called Thunderbird. That makes sense, no? If you don't like BT's mail service, I would reccomend using Google's Gmail.

  6. I'm a big advocate of yahoo...

their e-mail is terrific and their toolbar for internet explorer is good too.

  7. hotmail (now called windows live mail)  easy to use and loads of memory for e-mails.

    http://www.hotmail.co.uk

I use safari web browser, its 2 times faster than internet explorer and you can put your favourite web sites as buttons so that you just have to click them. Get it from here  http://www.apple.com/safari/download/

  8. hotmail, is fast, easy nd free!
