What is the best free search for addresses and phone number searches?

I work for hospice...and a clients last wish is to conntact an old friend he would like to speak to before he passes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

www.switchboard.com is a good one.  

www.zabaseach.com is also a good one:  Also try searching the name on any web site search engine.  As another suggestion, the local state welfare agencies hold huge data bases.   Try to contact a supervisor there.  They won't give you the information you want, but they may be kind enough to find the person, call them and ask the person to call you.   May you be blessed for your efforts and I really hope you find the person.
