I have to say that I LOVE Animal Crossing, though it can get a bit boring after a while. Mario Cart is pretty fun too.

Animal Crossing (hours of fun/never ending game/wi-fi/ds to ds)

Mario Kart DS (good racing game/old school kart levels/wi-fi/ds to ds)

Mario Party DS (ds to ds/mini games)

Pokemon Diamond/Pearl (hours of game play/over 400 pokemon to collect/ds to ds/wi-fi)

if you can only pick one and...

...you want to play it alone i suggest either Animal Crossing or Super Mario or Pokemon.

...you want to play with others i suggest Mario Party, you can play with up to 3 other ppl and they dont even need to have the game
