What is the best gas powered R/C airplane for beginners?

I want to buy one for my brother (who is a plane and R/C fanatic). He really likes the styrofome (however you spell it) ones, but they break easily and the batteries die fast. We need to be able to take it off down our 1/8 mile straight dirt road though. What can I get him?

P.S. I only have a $200 budget.
