  1. Elmer's makes two kinds one is a wood glue that has a shorter clamp time.  Elmer's wood glue should be good enough.  It's actually stronger than the wood after it dries.

  2. Gorilla glue is best. What you do is glue both sides of the break. Then stick the 2 together and keep them pressed together with tape. Don't use too much glue. This stuff foams up and holds like crazy.

  3. The wood in the broken area of the chair goes back together by hand and there are no missing splintered pieces then Elmer's yellow carpenter's glue would work.  If there are missing pieces of wood and the pieces don't go back together seamlessly then use the gorilla glue.  Remember as stated earlier, use this glue sparingly as it expands to fill in any voids of missing wood.  Clamping is a necessary part of any successful glue-up so use clamps.

  4. Whether either of those will work depends very much on what needs to be glued.  If it's re-gluing that needs to be done, Elmer's carpenter's glue is pretty good.

  5. Gorilla wood glue. It works best for me on wood.

ps. I have a question for you, I am applying for a position somewhere and wanted your advise since I see you had a bit of experience in the financial field. I tried emailing you but it failed, its in regard to one of your previous questions. email me at nel2088@yahoo Thanks!

  6. Gorilla glue is fantastic. I had a maple chair which broke down the middle of the seat. I glued it with gorrilla glue and just held it together with rubber bands. It sealed it like concrete.

Elmer's wood glue is good. But my experience is that the Gorilla glue is much stronger. I use it for many things.

The thing you will need to remember is that it can expand just a bit as it sets up so you will need to clamp it tight.

  7. Either is very good, if Elmers is wood glue.  Gorilla ads that it is the strongest, but proper clamping with elmers will work just as well, let it dry before taking off any kind of clamping.  Don't know what the damage is, but for clamping chairs I have used the rubber bungee cords with S hooks with good success.
