  1. the best tip i ever got was from an older man at my home golf course he told me to try to make every shot and  confident that you will make every shot

  2. dont let go of the club, and keep ur head down

  3. Ya I know this is very corny and cheesy but its true. When you pop a shot straight up in the air with a driver its very frustrating. My old golf teacher told me "when you get under it get over it."

This is more of a mental tip take each shot one at a time and do not let one bad shot ruin your round.

  4. I could probably narrow it down to 2

    1) It is much easier to make a 4 foot par putt than a 15 foot par putt.  Learn to chip the ball as close as you can without being super aggressive.

    2) Always pick a spot, like the size of a fly, in the back part of the cup that you can see.  Visualize the ball striking that spot as it goes in the hole.  Then just aim the ball on the line you want, but keep that little spot in your eyes.  Strike the ball well, and make sure you have enough to hit that back spot.  A putt can never go in unless it gets to the hole...

  5. I'm a good player but i get too mental and too mechanical.  My buddy told me to take the club to the top and then SHUT UP!  The point being, let the years of practice and preparation take over rather than always relying on swing thoughts.

  6. The majority of problems for most amateur players, stem from the back swing, believe it or not. When I was quite a bit younger than I am now, the golf pro, for whom I shagged balls, was watching my high school team tee off. When it was my turn to drive I showed to longest, fastest backswing of any team member. The following day, Mr. Burke brought me to the practice area and reduced the speed and length of my backswing so that most of the wildness was eliminated. This lesson alone resulted in lowering my handicap from a 10 to a six by year's end.

  7. When I was working at a resort course in PA, I got a chance to play with PGA pro Jim Furyk. On the seventh hole he told me the best thing I could do was... Slow down! A rushed swing is an inconsistant and likely poor swing. It has helped me improve from an 81 average in 2001 to a 74 average last year.

  8. Slow smooth swing.

  9. My most valuable tip is learning how to pitch the golf ball. Often times, around the green, you find yourself in some interesting predicaments and knowing how to get over an obsacle is a valuable tool in your golf arsenal.

Check out the link below and download a report that shows you how to pitch the golf ball.

  10. Tiger Wood was out to dinner the other night and saw Stevie Wonder at another table.  He walked over to introduce himself and to convey how much he liked his music.  After the intros, Stevie said "you know I play a pretty mean game of golf myself".  Tiger, a bit surprised said " I thought that you were blind".  Stevie say's "that doesn't stop me, I have my caddie stand next to the hole and ring a bell.  He went on to say that he would bet Tiger $10,000 that he could beat him in a round.  Tiger say's "I accept, when do you want to play?  Stevie say's " any night you want!"

  11. When you step up to the ball, don't worry about where it will go.  Just concentrate on one thing- making sure that club makes good contact with the ball.  If it does, the rest will take care of itself.

  12. Balance, tempo, and hit down -- and that all were interrelated.  If the pace of the swing was right, you'd stay in balance on the shot... and be hitting down on the irons for a clean shot.

I find if I am comfortable with my balance and tempo, the clean shots (from hitting down) take care of themselves.

  13. my best tips are

    1. dont let a bad shot let you down

    2. keep head on ball

i have loads but my fav 1 is

DRIVE FOR SHOW PUTT FOR DOUGH$$$$$

  14. Keeping my head down on putts well after the ball is on it's way.  Got that one many years ago and has saved me more strokes than any other tip I have ever received.

  15. Remeber the ABTs of golf.  Alignment, balance, tempo.

  16. Practice putting from 3 feet and closer.

  17. be patient

  18. swing around a fixed axis . most people say keep your head down(thats impossible). swing around your head. oh and chipping. wieght forward ball in th back of your stance

  19. Bobby Jones said that golf is played on a five and a half inch course -- the space between your ears.

Play smart, and your scores will improve, regardless of your actual skills. In coaching, I learned that getting my players to play smarter would shave five to seven shots off their round.
