What is the best gun ever?

Glock Model 30.  Its an accurate, reliable .45 caliber handgun, perfect for self-defense, fun to shoot, and, theoretically, could even be used for hunting all sorts of game at close distances in an emergency.

This is tough to answer.  first you would have to specify "For What?"  The top military small arm would be different than the top hunting rifle.  The best African Dangerous Game rifle would be different than the best bird gun.  The best Trap gun would be different than the best Silhouette  rifle.  The best sub-machine gun would be different than the best battle rifle.  

My current favorite hunting rifle is my Remington 700,  I really like the look and feel of the CZ 550 rifles, but I have not gotten the opportunity to fire one.  I have a feeling that I will have a new favorite hunting rifle after that.  The basic Mauser design has been around for over 110 years.  The fact that so many new production rifles are still using a variant of it gives credence to it being one of the greatest gun designs so far.  

My favorite target rifle is my AR15.   My AR10 comes in a close second.

There are lots of best guns in many categories. If I had to pick ONLY ONE for hunting, survival and protection. It would be my Springfield Armory M1A, 7.62 semi-auto rifle.

uh... well different guns are good for different things like a .308 remington 700 would be good for hunting deer but a ruger 10/22 wouldnt be but it would be good for squirrel hunting. my favorite gun is the M1A because its really accurate and im accurate with it and its got a lot of power and reliability.

Target shooting?

Plinking?

Military use?

All of these categories have short lists of the "best" guns for each particular use - but even then It'd be hard to place one particular one above it's basically equal contemporaries.

Why not add some details and lets see if we can narrow down the answer a bit, OK?
