What is the best hair colourant you have used? Please only answer if you applied the colourant yourself?

I am dying my hair on sunday/monday and I have never dyed my hair before. I just want to enhance my natural shade. What hair colourant have you used and why was it the best? Would you use it again?

Please only answer if you have tried & tested the product at home on your own. thanks.

i dyed my brown hair black w/ miss clairol and u can like get it @ hannafords and i liked it cuz it made my hair really healthy looking wen i wash it, and wen it wears down a little it looks really natural and it works relly well, u just hav 2 make sure u arnt like allergic 2 it! i wud use it agen, but im not allowed 2 dye my hair agen :(

Castings Colour Spa by L'Oreal - it's a really gentle yet long lasting semi-permanent dye, and it's conditioning qualities are lovely.  Gives good shine and makes your hair feel really healthy, and it doesn't smell bad like a lot of dyes can!

I have used several different kinds. I have been doing my own hair for over 20 years and have found that any of the L'oreal types work very well. I use Preference right now, but that is just because this year I like that shade. As long as it is a L'oreal product, you will be OK.

The best is L'oreal Superior Preference because it looks professional.  I would use it again.  Also, Clairol Natural Instincts for semi-permanent.
