What is the best hair dye for dying your hair dark brown?

My hair is already dark brownish but it was orange in it due to past hair dying. Don't say go to a stylist because I don't need to it's only dying over the orange. ALso how much does the dye cost and I need a permanent one that won't fade.

THANKS! =]

  1. Perfect 10, it's about $10-$11 at Wal*Mart.

When I used this dye it came out true to the color shown on the box. : ]

  2. All the hair brands are fine it just depends on what colour you choose and what brand. Some are more expensive than others but they range from $10-$20.

DO NOT choose a colour with red or auburn in it as you already have the orange, which will act as a fill. Best to stay with a brown or chocolate but dont go to dark brown as it will come out black. Choose a permanent and wash your hair with a shampoo and conditioner for coloured hair. This will help to hold the colour longer but in truth all colour fades and there is nothing you can do about it, except allowing your natural colour to grow out.

  3. loreal excellence creme in dark brown!!! it worked really well for me, and i had bleached hair it was kinda orange o.O and its like premanent and takes a while to fade. i got mine at the drug store for like 10$ :D:D but depending on the length you may need two boxes.. i used two just did the one then the other as well.. that was kinda dumb though

  4. i love loreal best it lasts the longest! :-)

  5. i agree with leighton :]

i used the perfect 10 level 9 blonde and it totally worked :]

  6. GARNIER NUTRISSE,

Seriously, it's the best hair dye out there..OR there's the new one by garnier with Eva Longoria on the ad.

The dyes both cost under 5 pounds and are really easy to apply. Also the nutrisse comes with a lovely smelling conditioner.

    :)
