What is the best hard floor sweeper, like the swiffer,or shark, along those lines of devices? ?

The shark is a dry sweeper, good for getting big things like dog hair, crumbs, dirt & grit.

Swiffer is a wet mop approach, good for fine dust, fine dirt, smaller crumbs, hair, etc.   It will also clean stains off the floor and basically gets the floor cleaner than the dry sweep approach.

I would use an old fashioned broom for big stuff and use the swiffer most all the time.  Swiffer is cheaper, smaller and less likely to break than the Shark.
