  1. £90! that's a rip off - try

  2. If you are in the uk go to ebay and look for items by the seller simonjonest1000. As some excellent cables for sale at rock bottom prices. We bought a hdmi cable value at £400 for £110.

    Wireworld are a market leader

  3. i think unless your rich jus get one for £20 or somethin.

magazines like what hifi n t3 expect everyone to **** money!

i dnt have the money to speand hundreds on cables?!

but still im hooked on reading them.. haha.

  4. You can order any cables from

    http://www.monoprice.com

for a lot less, and the quality is the same/better than the monster cable you can get at Best Buy since retail stores really mark up cable prices.  I liked ordering from them because you can pay with paypal if you want (or credit card), and paypal has buyer protection.

Since the first order, I've bough lots of stuff from them and never had a problem (I'm just the kind of person that is always cautious when I am ordering from a place for the first time).

If you want a top of the line HDMI, they have HDMI version 1.3 cables in various lengths from 3ft to 25ft:

    http://www.monoprice.com/products/subdep...

Note: HDMI is digital, so for shorter lengths of cable (20 feet or less) there is no difference between different cables. (For longer cable runs, you may want a thicker gauge cable (lower AWG)).

You will probably want a cable that is rated for HDMI version 1.3 (other cables will most likely work, but these are cables that have been specifically tested for the newer HDMI features such as "Deep Color" and passing compressed high definition audio as bitstream (Dolby True-HD and DTS HD Master Audio) if you have a home theater system).

That being said the only 2 differences between a $20 cable that is rated for HDMI version 1.3 Category 2 and a $120 cable cable that is rated for HDMI version 1.3 Category 2 is:

    1. The Brand name

    2. The price

----------Quality (the important thing) is exactly the same.

  5. The CBC show Marketplace recently did a piece on HDMI cables. The conclusion, based on lab and listening / viewing tests, was that:

    - there was no measurable difference between a $12 cable and a $260 cable at normal distances; and,

    - salespeople make a killing on cables and other accessories. They benefit but the consumer gets shafted. See 1st link.

Another lab test (2nd link) agreed, showing there are differences in cables that can matter at longer distances, but not at uo to about 15 ft.

Save your money ... you should look for a HDMI 1.3 certified Category 2 cable and shouldn't have to pay more than the equivalent of $25. See one online source at link 3 and if you want the best (longer distances, in  wall use) at still reasonable prices see link 4

  6. qed or chord hdmi cable are top notch will cost less than £90 and rated 5 star in virtually every av magazine...I use the chord for my av set up and they are truly magnificent.
