  9. A couple of weeks on Sanibel Island in the Gulf of Mexico. In the gardens outside our room were notices,  Please close your curtains at night because the turtles become disorientated, and another said Do not feed the alligators.

  10. My wife and I had a motoring holiday around the southern states of America.  We visited civil war battle scenes, New Orleans (before the floods) and any other place of interest (Grand 'Ol Oprey).  Total cost about £2,500 all-in, (including, bring home prezzies) for two weeks, about 3,000 miles. Cost included return air fair to Atlanta, a trip on a Mississipy paddle steamer and meal.

With NO other expenses.  We stopped at 3/4 star hotels. Driving about 250 mile a day, more or less.  The food was excellent. (careful on Sundays.  They have BRUNCH you pay for two meals at breakfast) The people were warm, friendly and helpful - we got lost. wherever we went.  We hired a large car (Mondeo) and the fuel prices were about £20.00 a tank full...when you take the car back to the hirers, make sure you have an empty tank or the next user will benefit from your tankfull. (At the start of your rent, you pick the car up almost empty of fuel).  The holiday was great and we learned a lot.
