  1. I haven't found a home remedy for true acid reflux but what works great for heartburn is baking soda mixed in about an ounce of water (as much as you can tolerate).  I treat it like a shot of nasty medicine as it makes me gag, but it WILL cure heartburn & MAY be good for mild acid reflux.

My reflux wakes me up coughing at night almost to the point of choking & gagging until the acid comes up, so I've resorted to generic Prilosec, & others at the Dollar Store.  They are about $4 for 30 pills & are really helping me.

  2. acid reflux is really a cover for something else that is wrong with you and if you get to the bottom of the problem it is more than likely to go away.

If I had just told the doctor that I was suffering from an acid stomach, HELP!, the type 2 diabetes would not have been discovered til much much later when it had done a heckofa lot more damage to my nerves, blood vessels, heart and more.

What I am saying is go see the doctor for a complete physical with blood draws to see what is actually wrong. Don't self diagnose!!

  3. Baking soda works great, the dosing is on the box.

  4. Get some Mylanta Ultimate Strength Antacid Cherry. Not a home remedy but it is the best thing.

You can also try a dropper full of goldenseal in a glass of water. Get it at a health food place that has herbal stuff. Tastes like dandelions. It's best use is for diarrhea, though, or any stomach malady caused by bacteria in the stomach, which goldenseal kills.

Ginger is good as well- hot tea or pickled or cut from the ginger root.

  5. i have that and i drink long life milk

  6. Avoid stimulants. Caffeinated beverages, coffee (including decaffeinated coffee), tobacco and other stimulants can irritate the gastrointestinal tract.

Use DGL (deglycyrrhizinated licorice). Slowly chew two tablets or take a half-teaspoon of the powder before or between meals and at bedtime. Taper your dose down after your symptoms are under control.

Consider slippery elm. It can heal irritated digestive tract tissues.

  7. milk, antacid tablets. prescribed medicine is best though.
