You can build a better PC yourself for about 1/2 the price of a Alienware (or any other company that advertises that they have a good gaming rig. Like a Dell XPS which is about 3x more expensive than what you can build an equivalent for.)

If you are new to building computers you can have a computer shop build you a good computer on the cheap.  Look for multiple large Hard Drives, Blu-ray / DVD drives, and a good graphics card (it doesnt have to have a HDMI out because you can use an DVI to HDMI adaptor).

Other nice features are remote controls and card readers.
