MIT has an open university mindset. Many of their courses are online and the resources can be used by anyone. A lot of them have streaming video lectures. Many have the course content entirely online. Others use a text. You can find the texts that the courses are using used via Amazon or E-bay.

Also take a look at Teacher-Tube, U-Tube, and VoiceThread. Many instructors create teaching material and use these sites to make them available to students. There are search tools, so you can type in the subject or topic to see what is available.

Some sites have a live teacher online but require paid enrollment to access the material. Many of these are very good and worth the price.

Greg Landry's Anatomy and Physiology Course. http://www.anatomycamp.com/. This is taught by a home school father and professor of human anatomy at a NC university. During the fall and spring semesters he runs an online course and during the summers he runs anatomy camps where the kids go to universities to do hands on dissections (even a real human cadaver). The kids room and board at the university with him on one floor supervising the boys and his wife on another floor supervising the girls. The online component is live in the sense that all log on at the same time wit the instructor; though, if a student has to miss a lecture, the material can be accessed as well.
