  1. I hope that you are going now - it's smack bang in the middle of the carnaval there - probably the second most amazing event of the sort after the carnaval of Rio. Barranquilla has a reputation for unbearable heat - make sure you get a room with good air conditioning. Expedia.com will offer a few options, otherwise just google for "hoteles barranquilla". People there are incredibly friendly - just relax and enjoy the Caribbean lifestyle.
