What is the best hotel with the best beach on ST.THOMAS. IN THE US VIRGIN ISLANDS??

A lot of folks flock to the Marriott Frenchman's Reef.  There are better places but the price is out of sight.  Another good place is the Bolongo Bay Club.

I have been to St. Thomas over a dozen times and the last 4 I have rented villas through McLaughlin Anderson (www.mclaughlinanderson.com).  It gives you more freedom and seclusion.  Most villas have their own pool.  The cost is no more than a good hotel when you consider that you can eat in several meals a day rather than pay the high price of restaurants.  

Take the ferry for a short hop to St. John.  If beaches are what you are after they have the best.  Be sure to go to Caneel Bay.

I just spent a couple of days on St Thomas. We stayed at Secret Harbour Beach Resort. We stayed in their beachfront studio rooms. What a very nice resort. A great beach with fantastic snorkeling just feet from the beach.

They have a fine restaurant called Blue Moon Cafe, there is also a dive/gift shop on the property.

You are a mile away from the East End  and their wonderful restaurants.  Red Hook ferry is also there, if you want to take a short 20 minute ferry ride over to St John for the day.

Close by is Linquist beach, Sapphire Beach or Coki Beach. Very nice location.

I shouldn't be saying this because it's a secret but Secret Harbour Beach Resort is great.  It's quiet, has great snorkeling and the beach has soft, white sand.  There's a beach bar and a restaurant on the premise.

While the big resorts are posh they rarely have a beach literally right in front of the hotel.  I can name you four that do:

you should stay on st john at the caneel bay resort.  its very nice and there isn't near as much traffic as st thomas and the beaches are alot nicer.  but if you do stay on st thomas i stayed at bolongo bay in april i would of rather had a room than one of the villas the villa we stayed everything was white the floors, the furniture, the ceiling, the walls, the counters.  it was depressing.  the rooms were nice but we had a few people so we got the villas instead.
