Wait till August/September and you can buy a "clean" burning diesel from Volkwagen that gets 55mpg on the highway. No harmful batteries to dispose of or to replace.

I love my 2004 Toyota Prius. I am about to turn 60k miles and still get 45-50mpg. It is bigger than the Hondas that get the same mileage. I also own a Saturn Vue Hybrid, and I am unimpressed. When the time comes for a new vehicle, barring something that isn't available yet, I would get another Prius. I currently use it to do deliveries for my cloth diaper company. You do have choices, but given size, efficiency, service, and quality, it is Prius hands down! I do wish the 'big 3' could do something like this, but they are sadly stuck in the mindset of not doing anything really new. I bought the Saturn to buy American, and I regret it.
