  1. Study "smart", not "hard".  Find out what your learning style is.  Many schools have tests that will tell you this. That will make your studying easier.

When memorizing material, don't try to do it in large amounts at a time.  Break it down to just a few items at a time.  You tend to remember the first and last things you read more than the 'middle' stuff.  So when memorizing lists of info, try to keep it to about 3 lines at a time.

Visual learners learn best by incorporating things like colors, designs, etc. into their notes such as using highlighters, little drawings, etc.

Kinesthetic learners learn best if they can put their hands on it themselves, do it themselves versus just being told how to do it.

Auditory learners learn best by hearing something versus reading it.

The link below has more information on learning styles and assessing your own learning style.  Hope this helps.

  2. Read Review Remember!

  3. Stay away from drugs&alcohol

  4. When I was in University (and in residence) I found I needed to get off campus on a regular basis.  I had hobbies that I could do for five minutes and put down without tragic consequences. Knitting did it for me - Cross stitch too. This helped to provide a welcome, SCHEDULED regular breaks from the books and computer.

I found it helpful if the activity is something TOTALLY unrelated to your field of study. [change is as good as a rest].

It's impossible to think that "I have to study for 20 hours without getting up.). Break it down and reward yourself OFTEN with SHORT breaks. I found the TV not a great diversion as I always wanted to continue watching until the end of the show if I got involved.

Exercise is a good diversion and it helps with Health (mental and physical),  It may change your immediate surroundings - its difficult to study in the same place FOREVER. Besides the numb-butt phenomenon it's not as productive (I found).

Open yourself to try new things - New skills to learn - New friends to make and so on - so many benefits

Best Wishes and Have [lots of] fun!
