  1. No Answer! I have sat at the entrance to the Nantahala River run to the NOC and watched a 100 canoes and kayaks take off downstream. I can't remember seeing any two boats that were alike. You will need to try out a few kayaks. Plastic or Glass? Short or Long? Talk with other boaters. A good boater can run with any kind of kayak, a beginner will need a stable kayak with a hull that can slide off rocks.

  2. Depends on what kind of creeks and rivers... Let me explain...

To some paddlers, this is running a creek:

And you can read up on kayaks for doing so here:

But to some, this is paddling a creek:

So.... the question is, what kind of water is in the creek / river you want to paddle?   And, what do you want to be able to do with your boat?

Check out the links below - there are some great articles that will help you decide what will work for you.  In all honesty, the best boat for you  might be very different from the boat I feel is the best for me.  A lot depends on your skill level, and the features you want in the hull.

  3. inazone is a pretty good all round boat. plus it gives you a chance for some play. i use a 232 and i way about 11 stone.

note: i put this link up as a picture.... i dont know whos selling it

if your interested in more volume and a creaker then i'd advise a jefe. its one of the more popular in our club.... plus the extremely round hull gives it a unique feel
