What is the best kind of camcorder?

best quality is mini-dv. I doubt there is a good new camcorder for $150, for that kind of money you'll need to do a lot of research and find one that got good reviews a few years ago and buy a used one on ebay. Make sure they have a return policy, that way you'll know it works.

If you could come up with $370, this camera is excellent
