  1. I use Softsoap too.  I have a pump in my kitchen and bathroom.  In my bathroom I also have a bar of Zest on the counter for the really grimy jobs, like kids hands after playing in the dirt.  It lathers better.

I keep a bottle of hand sanitizer in my purse for when I go to the grocery store.  No telling what kinds of germs on shopping carts (salmonella, ecoli, flu).

  2. My Dr, told me that just plain old soap(anti-bacterial) and water works better that anything else. Just as long as the water is warm and I wash for a length of time. I sing happy birthday twice and when I'm done singing I have washed long enough.

  3. We use antibacterial hand soap (Softsoap, usually) in our house.  The only thing I would caution about hand sanitizer is that ideally you're just pushing the germs around on your hands.  With soap and water, at least you are washing it down the drain.  I would only use sanitizer in places where washing is not available.
