What is the best kind of pen that can be used for autographing plastic?

I want to have a few action figures autographed. They are still in the package, and the cards are a little dark for a Sharpie marker to show up. Is there another kind of marker available that I should use for a whitish color, or is there a special black marker that is good for autographing the bubble part of the packaging? Something that will last a long time?

Thanks!

  1. I would recommend the kind of fine point permanent markers used for labelling CDs. Curiously, until CDs became immensely popular, they used to call these overhead transparency markers. They come in lots of colors and are sold in packs of four usually: Green, red, blue and black. Be aware that there are two varieties of these markers: The permanent kind and the water washable kind. Make sure you get the permanent ones.

  2. Sharpie makes "silver" and other light colors (pink is my favorite) too - that's what I use on my dark colored plastics.

My mom used to do a lot of paint pens on plastic but if you are using it for an autograph type thing I'd check into the metallic sharpies... nothings says cool like your name in silver or gold!
