What is the best kind of pet turrtle for a pond that won't eat fish?

A turtle that's smaller than the fish. If the fish is smaller than the turtle's head, the turtle will eat the fish.

Turtles will also eat many of the plants you might put in a pond. I love turtles, and wouldn't want to discourage you from getting one, but they are messy, and they do mangle up plants, and eat almost anything. Even small gravel. So, you'll want to do a little research on turtles, pond communities, and plants before you decide to add a turtle to your pond. A good pet or pond supply store should be a good place to start.

Red or yellow eared generally do pretty well in ponds with a bit of planning ahead.

well most turtles with eat fish depending on size of fish. if it is like koi then a red ear slider shouldn't harm them to much.

I had my 2 in a 60 gal tank 36 yrs ago and it had  bluegil and koi and fancy goldfish . They were the size of a silver dollar..well the started nipping and ganging up on a particular fish and start chompin on it even though the fish is much larger then the tuirtle was..

So I would say if you like you fish..don't get a turtle.

I still have those 2 turtles and they are 36 yrs old.  Plus  I have  a 7 yr old and a 5 yr old. . Great pets.

They have a pond of there own with tons of feeder goldfish.

All aquatic turtles eat fish. Even my baby turtle will eat them. It wont be such a great idea to get a turtle for your pond.
