What is the best kind of small dog for my family?

I'm 14 and I LOVE small and cute dogs that you can carry and cuddle with! I love to carry my pets whenever I can! I want one that is playful but calm and won't usually bite. I live with a family of 4 or 5. Me, my mom, my lil bro of 8 and my medium bro of 13. Visitors usually come.Please tell me what kind of small and cute dog I can get.

PLEASE do not get a dog without researching A LOT. Tons. This is a huge decision; it is adding a family member, and too many people take it way too lightly.

Just because a dog is small doesn't mean it will not need exercise and discipline. Dogs need to walk. People carry small dogs way too much as far as I'm concerned.

Cockapoo, It's a cocker spaniel and a poodle. I have one, it's really quiet, friendly, and playful at times. He also loves to cuddle.

I would say a Chihuahuabecause they LOVE attention and I read that they do very well with old people because they are always home. I have 9 Chihuahuas (no joke) and one of them totally loves me! She HAS to sleep with me EVERY night or else she gets sad and cries and scratches the door. And when I am in the bathroom with the door shut she starts crying for me, its soo cute! You should get a Chihuahua because they are so adorable (dont bite), and because I typed alll of this! XD

Sounds like you are talking about an accessory not a companion animal.  Small dogs tend to be generally more hyper and noisy and nippy - they have to be cause look at all the big animals that could eat them.
