What is the best kind of turtle to get as a pet?

I want to get a pet turtle but I don't know which one is the easiest to take care of? I want one that won't smell and won't bite. I need help!!!

i had one of these guys for a while. they are land animals and are fairly small. they don't smell and don't bite.

Do not get a water turtle. Ive had mine for a while, I feel bad put It gets old doing all the work it takes. Go with a land turtle. Mine will be great when i dig up a swiming pool sized pond, but in small water they suck

PS. the african sulcata is a great toritos.

African Helmeted Turtles make the best pets. They are fairly easy to care for. I do not think they smell much either.
