What is the best kinf of box to get ported or non ported to put in the trunk of a 1991 buick?

does non ported mean without holes for air to comeout its going to be used with a 1000 watt 12 and 1000 amp and is really the best to be used in a trunk

  1. It depends on what type of subs you have more then what car you have.  Let us know what subs you have and we can tell you what is better.

  2. Wrong and wrong, it depends on what kind of sound you are looking for, SQ, SQL or SPL.

    Sealed is the standard for SQ, but a properly tuned ported box can do SQ well. Ported in general is more for SQL and SPL applications.

    To break it down real simple, Ported for loud boomy bass, sealed for tight controlled bass. Granted this does not cover everything, ported can give a nice tight response if tuned right.

  3. non ported you will not reap the benifits of a ported box in a trunk
