Premier makes a great affordable set. Try getting the shells and hardware seperate. Sometimes that save money. I just got my dream amp off craigs list. try there

I'd suggest finding a quality used kit. Look for name brands like DW, Tama, Yamaha etc. Also be aware every most manufacturers have an entry level line and a pro line.

Check out the Pearl Rythym Traveler. A little small but probably the best for a budget. I know that Sam Ash sells used. Check out a place like that and see what you find.
