  1. Nothing stronger than a blood not for connecting mono.

  2. The uni to uni knot. Best knot for leader/line connection. It really excels in braid/mono situations though. Here's an example of how to do it.

  3. The blood knot should suit you fine, if not the nail knot as suggested by pheasant tail will work just as well. Blood knot and others that should help, all of them are reliable.

  4. Because of the difference in line size and the types of line the double or back to back uni knot is the best choice as far as strength and ease of tying.  My personal experience with fluorocarbon and the blood knot has not been positive, even with similar diameters of line, so the uni knot system is my first choice.

    Another method that is used in local saltwater fishing is to pre-tie your leaders and attach to the main line using a small welded ring in between the leader and main line.This way you can use any knot that you are comfortable with such as a clinch or palomar knot.  Makes changing leaders faster and the two knots I mentioned are both stronger than the blood knot or uni knots.  The ring is also small enough that you can fly line with it or use it as a stop with a sliding sinker above it.

  5. I kinda like the doubled uni to uni knot!

  6. for connecting lines of different diameters, nothing is stronger or more secure than an offset nail knot.

    Here is a link to provide you with instructions on tieing one.

    The blood knot ,as mentioned, is a good choice: however;

    it is not as strong as an offset nail knot when tieing mono/floro of much different diameters. It  (blood)is a great knot when tieing together lines of similiar diameters,

    such as 12 lb test to 10 lb test, etc.....

    The conventional nail knot is not as strong as the offset nail knot when tieing mono/floro of two much different diameters,

    but for similiar diameters or for leader to flyline it is superior.
