What is the best language to learn?

I know English but would I do better to learn French or Spanish as a second language?

DEFINETLY learn Java and C++.   :P

It depends on what you want. If you want to travel to more places and be able to speak to more people, then Spanish will get you further than French. Write more about what you want from language study, and you might get a better answer.

Spanish definitely. I've tried both languages, and French has challenging grammar at times, plus hard pronunciation. Spanish is simple, it has many many MANY cognates in English, and has simple rules to follow.

For example: if you know English many words will become clear in Spanish because English has many synonyms for words.

For example, the word inundation means flooding in English, and the spanish word for flood is inundacion, like potato potato. Plus, you'll use Spanish a lot more than French, especially if you live in the U.S.

Depends on where you live and what you want to do. For a bland life in the western hemisphere, definitely Spanish. For an international career, particularly diplomatic, French is better.
