What is the best laptop I can buy for under 1000 dollars?

I'm living in Canada, going to university soon, and I need a laptop for school, but also for movies, music, and chatting with friends, and internet.

Here are some important specs I want.

2GB DDR2 --> or greater

160GB hard drive or greater

Built in webcam

Good wireless internet connectivity

Basically where I will be at the library a lot, I want a laptop that will have good wireless internet connection, aswell as be a long lasting laptop, that won't start to die from normal use, for I will be using mine a lot.

Please give me suggestions.

I am looking to get hopefully a Sony laptop.

Hi.. I'll say  the Sony VAIO laptops are so good.. The are stylish and confortable..., I know you' ll say that these guys are expensive..but there are some models that you can have  just with 800-900 $.

Good luck with your college. I wanna recommend you buying this model: Sony VAIO (VGN-CR 510 E ) it's great and even it comes with 9 different colors :)
