My dorm room is sooo small I just wanted to know what everyone thinks the best layout for the room is... we don't have bunked or loft beds. The furniture consists of 2 beds, 2 desks, 2 dressers, and 2 chairs.

  1. What I would do would be to put all of the furniture against the walls, so that you have an open space in the middle of the room. It will give you room to walk around and also make your room look bigger.  If you have furniture all around the room, it looks cluttered, and small. I hope this helps! Good Luck!

  2. in most dorms you can get the pegs to bunk your beds!  It is always helpful if you can/  Look and see if your beds have holes in the head and foot boards!  We always bunked, but only had 1 dresser, and then the 2 desks.  You get use to the small space.  That's why you leave the door open and meet your neighbors, makes the place feel bigger!!

  3. You could PVC pipe the legs of your bed. It will raise your bed a lot and you could use the area underneath for storage. Place fabric under your mattress to hide the storage area if needed.

  4. use as much of your vertical space as you can.  Maybe invest in some shelving or look at purchasing a loft bed.  Storage is always a challenge in dorms, so maybe consider keeping your off season clothes at home, and retrieving them on a visit back home.
