  1. citabrias are fun to fly and you can do limited areobatics in them.

  2. Ask 50 pilots, and you'll get 50 different answers.

J-3, J-5, Voyager, Taylorcraft, Aeronca Champ and Chief, Ercoupe, Piper Pacer or Cruiser, etc.  Some pilots would use a C150 that way, not to mention the C120 or C140.  There are many kit airplanes and homebuilts that are good for the purpose.

The longer you hang around, the more you will see, though the golden age is over.  There are still lots of little old airports scattered around the country where the airplanes are old, the pilots are old, the coke machine is an antique, the hangar is too, and you can get a whiff of what it was really like.

    Good luck!

  3. the new cessna skycatcher, check out the website. of course...this is brand new so more expensive than older aircraft. but its great from what they say...

  4. Whichever one you like best.

  5. I like the J3 cub. It's a great plane for touch and go's and its a very easy aircraft to handle.

Reminds me of the old days when pilots flew with six gauges.
