  1. Hello; well, that really depends on what you are looking for in a lizard. If you want something that is medium sized, very handleable, but is higher upkeep than some other, smaller lizards, then I would highly recommend a Northern Blue Tongued Skink.

They are often referred to as the 'Cadillacs of the lizard world', and are very intelligent, docile, interesting, hardy as long as their care needs are met, can be housed in a 40-60 gallon tank, are almost dog-like pets, and can even be hand-fed by their owners because of how gentle they are. They are omnivores and eat a mixture of greens, meats (chicken, high-quality cat food, snails, sill/wax/butter worms, etc), and fruit. They are a tad on the expensive side, but their personalities more than make up for it. I'm a bit biased, but in my opinion you really can't ask for a better pet lizard. :)

Here is an incredibly detailed care sheet that is a wonderful resource on Blue-tongue Skink general information, care, needs, and maintenance:

Another great option that is medium sized, personable, intelligent, and very sweet tempered would be the Bearded Dragon. Here is a care sheet for them; as well. :)

If you would prefer something smaller, lower upkeep, and still handleable but can be a tad harder to tame down than the above mentioned species; I’d recommend a Leopard Gecko, a Crested Gecko, a Viper Gecko, a Gargoyle Gecko, or an African Fat-tailed Gecko. All are nocturnal so they don't need UV lighting, low maintenance, docile, do quite well with handling, and the African Fat-tails, Vipers and the Leopards in particular make great starter lizards. :)

Here are care sheets for all of the Gecko species I just named:

I hope this helps, and if you have any further questions at all on the subject or would like more suggestions on a good lizard species; please feel free to message me and I will be more than happy to assist you. :)

Good luck on your lizard search!

  2. bearded dragons, leopard geckos and fat tailed geckos are best

  3. i have to say i am pretty biased towards my crested geckos.

they are awesome to watch, hold and they attack crickets at lightning speeds. haha..

but my second choice would be a bearded dragon for sure, though they are hella expensive and their enclosures are pricey to start up as well.

  4. for me, greeniguana is the best to handle, but if you want cooler lizards, also try the green sailfin lizard.

  5. proably a Water dragon

There not to big at the start  but grow about 3 feet (tail included)

and there not really vicious   they rarely bite

  6. breaded dragon

  7. Iguana!

  8. Although "best" usually comes down to a matter of personal preference, bearded dragons are very easy to handle.  A bearded dragon will "freeze" when handled.  Although they are not "tame", they do not resist or struggle when picked up.  For this reason, they are one of the most popular reptiles.  Beardies are easily handled and rarely gape or flare at their owners.  If you are a first time beardie owner, I'd recommend purchasing or adopting a juvenile or adult.  "Clutchlings" or babies under 3 months old tend to be skittish and are very delicate.  They're about the cutest little critters imaginable, but unless you can handle them very delicately and for 10-15 minutes daily, get an older dragon.

  9. blue tongued skinks and bearded dragons  both are very docile and actually seem to have a bit of a lazy demeanor

  10. Bearded dragons.

Because, they are affectionate and LOVE to be handled. Theyre very peaceful and easy to care for. I got mine on Thursday and she doesnt ever wanna let go of me when I put her back in her tank. They love people and going places.

  11. well its debatable, first off it really depends on what size of animal you would rather have... i have had 3 iguanas.. 2 of them were very friendly, but the third was just overly agressive to the point i had to give him up.. but anoles are small and very easily handled, i've also had a water dragon which are very easily handled but grow up to 4 ft inlength... but right now i'm settling with a leopard gecko, they're more agressive as juveniles due to protection, but as they get older they are very easily handled.... hope this helps
