What is the best lost surfboard model for a begginer?

I'm 5'11 145lbs and I'm lookin for a board around 6'1-6'4

  2. Surfing a longboard is extremely different to riding a longbaord. I'd recommend getting something in between to start with.

    Maybe go for either a mini-mal or a 6'10" with plenty of thickness, but still in a shortboard shape. That way you can still make faster turns and surf it like a shortboard, but you still have a bit more stability and buoyancy which will be a bit help.

    This is what I did and I'm only now about to get a 6'4".

    Right before I bought by chunky 6'10" I hired a 6'4" and found I couldn't do it at all back then.

    At least hire or borrow a board similar to what you are thinking of getting before making the purchase. There is nothing worse than getting a new board that you find frustrating and this will ultimately mean you don't surf as much and will take even longer to improve.
