What is the best major for a student who wants to help others without profit?

i'd like to do something that deals with people in need... mostly likely in a foreign country. i don't want 2 make a charity though. i want 2 start something that will empower the people and make them self sufficient and able 2 provide better for themselves and improve their living environment

Social work, and if you want to work over sees minor an Foreign Language, or Political Science.

well its not a major, at least i dont think it is anyway, but helping the homeless is always great, because us having a home and ac and heating and food and clean cold water, we take that for advantage, but they dont have any of that, so if your just looking to help people, try helping out around a homless shelter

Well, if you like pets you can foster cats, it has no rewards.

But if you like kids, then you can foster kids.
