  1. Whatever kind of martial art you like will be the best.  Any style will do, you have to put the work into it.

As someone above said, join your school's wrestling team.  If you want to huge beating, you'll get it there and you will have the opportunity to get into great shape.  Best of all, it's free!

  2. Muy Thai i think would be the best because it is very physical

  3. Brazilian ju jitsu, boxing, muay thai, or mma. they focus on full contact so you have to work on cardio a lot. any martial art will get you more fit but the ones were you go close to all out all the time will do the best. also sambo, shotokan karate, are full contact and will get the job done. Olympic style tae kwon do is very taxing on the cardio and and flexibility, so it would work to(might get ya into trouble if ya have to defend your self though)

  4. Join the Y first to get in shape , it will help you learn your martial art better. You might quit if you are out of shape and not appreciate the art of it. IN 6 months you could be ready and the Y might have a martial arts program you could join at a bargain price and quality instruction.

  5. Your high school wrestling team would get you in great shape.
