  1. Old cloth and sandbags.  Put sand in ziplock bags, double-bag it and wrap it with duct tape.  Put the sandbags in the middle of the bag.  If you can get an old cardboard tube that carpets are rolled on, put that in the middle and put the sandbags inside the tube.  The tube will stop the heavybag from bending.  PVC pipe can also be used.  Bundle up the old rags and make sure no sandbags are near the outside where they will hurt the hands.

If possible, line the outside with a layer of carpet padding.

Packing a heavybag properly is difficult and frustrating.  Good luck.

  2. scrap iron mixed with concrete nails.

  3. if you want a good heavy bag you could use sand, that could be too hard for you tho so you could use old clothes, rags, cloths, sheets etc.just compact them down into it and it will work fine,

  4. sand or grains

  5. eHello:

Most heavy bags are stuffed with a composite of a lint type fiber, tamped down layer by layer. In the old days bags were filled with sawdust. NEVER  use sand, as this causes hand injuries or turned wrists. if there is a dress maker in your local area, then cloth cuttings can be added in, 1/4 bag amounts, then tamped down tight with a baseball bat. This fills all sections of the bag, adding weight and tightness. I have a xxl custom bag for bid on ebay and I found a new and foolproof way to fill the bag easily. Shredded paper, (several bags needed) added, tamped down, does the trick nicely and it isn't damp like some of those that had attempted to do the filling with sand. Good luck..........Billboxing
