  1. If you mean anxiety for racing thoughts i would take something like Lorazepam or Xanax. It is fast acting and relaxes you so you can do normal things without those racing thoughts.

  2. It depends why you have them.

If they are caused by anxiety, benzos can help (as long as you don't have alcohol problems).

If, on the other hand, they're caused by hypomania, then you probably need to change your antidepressant.  If you're on Wellbutrin I'm guessing you've probably already tried some SSRIs and had problems.  Venlafaxine might be a possible alternative.

You really need to talk about this with your doctor, because they'll be able to ask the right questions in view of your medical and psychological history.  Your doctor should be able to come up with a good solution.

  3. If Wellbutrin has your thoughts racing really fast, consider seeing a psychiatrist if you are not already.  Certainly talk to your doc about it.  Racing thoughts are a symptom of bipolar disorder.  Antidepressants triggering manic symptoms is another symptom of bipolar.  It could be that you are using the phrase differently, but it'd be best if you talked to the right type of doc about it.

If you are bipolar, there are various mood stabilizers.  The right one(s) for you will be the ones that work best for you.

  4. I take paxil and depakote myself for racing thoughts that is a symptom of bi-polar. but i don't think there is a best med. I think it all depends on each individuals system as to what will work best for them. Good luck with finding yours..  btw..wellbutrin is a very good medicine. it like all other meds takes a while to get into your system and work like it is suppose too!

  5. The Wellbutrin may be causing your racing thoughts. See your doctor immediately. He may want to try you on an SSRI...such as Celexa, Lexapro, Paxil, Prozac, or Zoloft.

If the racing thoughts continue, a low dose of Abilify (5-10mg) may be helpful!

  6. booze

  7. I take abilify for bipolar disorder, remeron for depression and serequel which is an anti-psychotic. The only one out of those 3 that stop the racing thoughts for me is the serequel but it knocks you out. It's not something your supposed to take during the day. I have also tried depakote, paxil, zoloft and many others and nothing has taken away my racing thoughts so I'm sorry to say this but I don't think I can help you. I personally haven't found any so far that have helped me with that problem.
