What is the best medicine for a sore throat ,runny nose , and cough?

i have a really sore throat and runny nose . no medicines seems to help me such as tylenol and vicks 44

brew some licorice bush (the leaves) and use it without milk and consume it like 3 times a day or you could try golden seal...I'm no professional but I've used they two herbal meds to get rid of some nasty colds.
