What is the best month or time of year to visit Cancun?

I wanted to take a trip to Cancun with my girlfriend. We plan to go on excursions and majority of the time lay on the beach with a cocktail so definitely need good sunny weather. My main and only concern is avoiding rain, hurricane and cloudy weather. I was hoping to go before the end of the year. It should be a romantic trip so I dont want the weather to ruin our time. If Cancun weather is too unpredcitable can you recommend any other romantic beach vacations? Thank you

i would go in winter, i dont think there is much of a tourist season then and you should be able to get good deals on stuff. maybe in the fall too right before kids go back to school

early sept or late august...its still early in the hurricane season to get a major storm and the kids are back in school and rates are low. it might rain for 5 minutes in some spots just enough to keep the temps moderate. it never rains long...   weather is unpredictable but cancun has the nicest beaches and def worth it.

I suggest July or August, right before and the beginning of hurricane season.  I'd say July though just to be safe.  Last year, a hurricane hit some parts of Cancun at the beginning of September.  Last year I went in August and it rained a few times, but it was at night while I was sleeping. It only rained once during the day and it was like a drizzle that left as soon as it came.  I seriously welcomed it though, it gets HOT and humid there, but it's worth it.  The beaches are just beautiful.

Jan, Feb and March and the weather is beautiful usually 80 days during the day and 65-70 at night.
