It depends on what part of Brazil. If you're going to the north east then definitely June, July and August. Down south spring and fall are good. January and February is ok at the southern beaches. Kind of too hot for me though.

That depends if you like the cold or the hot weather. If you can stand the heat you can go in December/January (the New Years there is awesome!) or February for the Carnival. If you don't like the hot weather you can always visit in July which is winter time but nothing compared to our winter in NY, it's usually around the 70's (F) when it's really cold down there, so if their winter is that warm you can imagine how hot it can be during the summer time.
