What is the best month to visit Kenya on a safari?

masai mara, lake nakuru, mount kenya. I am sort of looking at april and sumer months.

yes, april would work. I'am from Tanzania (Right near Kenya, their neighbors) and in the north of my country you have the serengeti. It doesn't really matter what season, its amazing all year around. But april makes sense, it'll be cheaper air fare. Btw. becareful, East Africa aren't the safest countries, don't visit tanzania if you have blonde hair (They'll kill you for it) and don't go to kenya in a ghetto area, which is most of it, but the places you mentioned aren't that bad. BTW if you won't to see a mountain, go to Tanzania, mt. kilomanjora its the highest point in africa, a very beautiful sight.

We went in June and it was beautiful, hot yes, but not overly so. If you want an alternative to the Masai Mara, I highly recommend Tsavo! It is beautiful, not as crowded and a lot more natural from what I've heard (been to Tsavo, not the Masai) and we did see loads of animals!

Apart from the typical landscape, you can also visit Mzima Springs which is absolutely beautiful! I highly recommend it to anyone!

Best in weather or Best in price?

You can go on safari on any month of the year.  During the wet season, the grass is green and the scenery beautiful and you can get the best pictures ever.  The roads to the national parks and especially Masai Mare are impassible but dont shy away because you can fly there which is relatively fair.  The dry season too is ok but the grass is dry and most animals prefer to stay in the shade making it difficult to spot all of them.

Price wise, April and May are Low season and hotel accomodation is quite low. All other months are Peak season and demand determines hotel accomodation.  If you wish to travel during the peak season, you need to book your hotel accomodation very early. December to early january is high peak.
