  1. the best one? Sony Vegas Pro 8.0 without a doubt.

want it for free? torrent it

    get utorrent (utorrent.com)

then go to www.thepiratebay.org and look for it

there are less professional ones such as Corel's Ulead Video Studio and that's all i can think of rigth now. but yeah Windows Movie Maker and iMovie suck

  2. To answer the question accurately it's a toss-up between Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 and the whole integrated Adobe CS3 suite.. or Avid Media Composer. Avid is the stuff of broadcast TV and about 90% of what you watch on TV or at the movies goes through it. However...it's not an easy leaning curve for the novice. If you're on the Mac then you have Final Cut Pro to rival Premiere. You can download a trial of Premiere from Adobe or if you are of the mind to get it free and steal it then I'm sure you'll find where it's easily available. If you want to buy then start with Premiere Elements as it's cheap and powerful for what it does.

Bang for buck probably goes to Sony Vegas though...although I don't like the way it works. Horses for courses. If you want to go on to make movies commercially then learn on Adobe or Avid. I work video for a living and use both of them with the associated hardware.

All editing software is just the hammer with which to bang the nail it...so the make of hammer doesn't matter. It's your creative talent that will make the final product something class and unique.

    I hope that answers it.

    Best of luck

  3. Like the above answer,

Sony Vegas Pro 8.0 is reccommended if you wish to invest in software. Don't follow the illegal p****y method that the above answer reccommended though, if you get caught its not a good thing.

For a free alternative, use the built in Windows Movie Maker, its limited to what features it has, but hey! it does the job, and the end result is a professional and 'good looking' move.

    Hope this helps,

    Best regards,

    Nick~
