What is the best musical on Broadway right now?

I will be vacationing in NYC this August from Texas. What is the best musical on right now, and should I dress casual or dressy for an evening show?

i watched the tony awards and the winner was "In The Heights". I haven't watched it yet but the preview was amazing. The lead actor raps insteads of singing. Its a musical with a twist.

my friend was a wigger on "the drousey chaperone" so we got free tickets when they came through chicago and it was a GREAT show! and i'm not big into musicals. this one has something for everyone. there are jokes for muscial nerd, theatre nerds, people who make fun of musical/theatre nerds, and then just funny jokes for everyone. great characters, super pace, and i think it's under 2 hours. i highly recommed this show for anyone and all ages.

i would have to say wicked. it's something for every body and has a bit of everything. if you see it, you will love it because it drags you in the ride, a bit like narnia

Hmm... all depends-- South Pacific won the Tony if you're looking for something classic.

If you're a young female, you'd probably enjoy Legally Blonde or Wicked...

Spring Awakening is supposed to be really good too.

In terms of what to wear- because Broadway is so touristy, people will literally wear t-shirts and jeans to evening shows (because they've been out sightseeing all day). But there will also be lots of people dressed up too.

So it just depends on what you're comfortable with AND whether or not you have time to change clothes...

My favorites are Legally Blonde, Wicked, Hairspray, Young Frankenstein, The Lion King, Mary Poppins, and The Little Mermaid.
