  1. I'll send you a tape of my wife telling me about her day at work  put you to sleep quick

  2. Natural remedies include warm milk, valerian, melatonin, 5-HTP and others that you can find in a web search for "natural sleep remedies".

  3. chamomile tea is really relaxing even meditation they relax the body!! good luck!

  4. Some of the best natural remedies for insomnia are Valerian (the strongest), Lemon Balm (you might have some in the garden), California Poppy and Camomile - these are best taken as a tea (about an hour before bed).

there are also other natural supplements you might consider taking:

St John's Wort (its not just for depression)

    5HTP

    Melatonin

but yes, the best thing is to get into a relaxed frame of mind before sleeping  - easier said than done I know!

I found that hypnotherapy really helped me with that

It may be best to use a combination of techniques - a herbal tea (about an hour before bed), a relaxing bath with lavender, good 'sleep routine', no TV, computer or bright lights for an hour before bed, a short walk before bed and hypnotherapy once you are in bed

Good luck and hope you will be sleeping soundly before too long

  5. I agree with ty math, and add...

    Lavender, valerian, and skullcap tea

    Melatonin at 6pm

Eat a turky thigh 2-3 ounces with dinner

and... I hate to say it  but... sexual venting (i don't know a better way to say it)

    lol.

Also, all lights off from 10pm on

have everything ready for the next day by 8pm

feel prepared and self talk about being prepared and complete

close your eyes while lying down and think yourself into a beach vacation, feel every detatil of it... the sand in your toes, the cool rush of ocean water on your ankles, the salty taste of sea on your lips, the rough feeling of your hair, the kelp scent, seagulls crying, sand crabs skirting away as you walk along the shoreline. Picture it all, and then picture yourself walking up a long stairway through a gate that will take you to your bungalow where a room awaits, with a beautiful feather bed made from the softest downy feathers, then picture the comfort and drift into sleep with that image.

    Also, stretch.

    Deep breathe.

and best of all... turn off the computer.

  6. It is important to create the right atmosphere for sleep. You should stop any stimulating activity a few housrs befire bedtime. Read a book, have a warm drink, but not tea or coffee, something like chamomile tea or warm milk. Have a warm bath, with a few drops if Lavender essential oil in it and listen to a relaxation CD.

Try not to worry about getting off to sleep, just relax. If you have got someone that could give you a massage and help you to relax this way, then even better.

The most important thing is to relax, because until we do this, our brain keeps on ticking over and we cannot get off to sleep.

I hope you find this useful.

    Sleep well, Chrissie

  7. I think that there are some natural everyday tips that can help you fall asleep which work better than every kind of pills. Here is what i do when i am stressed and can't sleep easily.

I try to relax and remove from my mind all stressful and overexciting thoughts, especially close to bedtime.

It have adopted a regular bedtime routine and made a cosy and quiet atmosphere in my room. I avoid before going to bed to drink coffee or  alcohol. Instead of these I have cup of chamomile tea or milk.

Since I am fan of Aromatherapy, I suggest you to have a relaxing massage or bath if possible before going to bed. You can use few drops of Lavender Oil which is safe and help you relax and unwind. If you want to try something easier, just put a scented towel (with Lavender or Roman Chamomile essential oil) under your pillow and get the scented while you lay on bed. It is easy and really helps.

    Hope you find this useful.
